The November Students of the Month were recognized at the board meeting with a medal. All the students chosen for this honor had previously attended a recognition luncheon at the administration building with a principal, assistant principal, or counselor from their school. Students selected as their school's students of the month join a group of 11 outstanding students who were chosen from about 8,600 students in Channelview ISD.

The 2009 Community Bond Committee was recognized for their efforts during the Bond Election. They were presented with the following resolution:
RESOLUTION
By this public action the Channelview ISD Board of Trustees is proud to recognize the members of the 2009 Community Bond Committee for their unselfish dedication to the education of our students and the future of our school district. With the adoption and presentation of this resolution we are establishing the following.
Whereas
The district has been in need of a new school and expansions at existing schools due to the tremendous and rapid growth in student population causing overcrowding at many of our schools. Many schools have been forced to utilize portable facilities that are costly to maintain and secure due to their portable nature.
Whereas
Channelview ISD has been overcoming challenges of aging and inadequate facilities for many years. Several buildings in this district are more than forty years old and can no longer sufficiently meet the needs of the modern educational environment.
Furthermore
We as trustees recognize the members of the Community Bond Committee volunteered their personal time to work diligently toward a common goal of designing a Bond Package. Without sacrificing quality, the Bond Committee was successful in designing a Bond Package that met the needs of the students and educators of Channelview ISD and the concerns of the Channelview voters.
Therefore be it Resolved
That on this day, Tuesday, November 17, 2009, The Channelview ISD Board of Trustees recognizes and commends all the dedicated members of the 2009 Community Bond Committee for their unselfish dedication to the education of our children, the future of our district, and the improvement of our community.
