The Assistant Superintendent of Finance is the leader of the Operations Division of Channelview ISD. The CISD Operations Division is a support oriented group of departments whose primary focus is to assist our students, staff, and community in their daily activities associated with the district.
This department handles the daily business operations of the district which include:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounting
- Budget
- Benefits/Risk Management
- Investments and Cash Management
- Payroll
- Purchasing
The Maintenance Department works with campus administrators and the community to provide access to clean, well maintained facilities. The department is comprised of a combination of units:
- Building Maintenance
- Custodial
- Electrical
- Grounds
- HVAC
- Kitchen
- Pest Control
The Maintenance Department actively participates in special events such as:
- B.H. Hamblen Scholarship Golf Tournament
- Channelette Haunted House
- Annual Employee Picnic
- District Sporting Events
- Graduation Ceremonies
- Project Graduation
- Summer School
CISD participates in the National School Lunch Program and offers free and reduced-price breakfast and lunch based on financial need. The Nutrition Services Department:
- Serves over 1.25 million meals and 17,000 snacks to students each school year.
- Provides food baskets for families of students in need during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
- Awards scholarships to Channelview seniors who will be attending college.
- Provides after school snacks for all students attending extended day education enhancement programs sponsored by the district.
- Serves free meals during each summer through the Summer Feeding Program sponsored by the Texas Department of Human Services.
The Nutrition Services Department generates its funds from federal reimbursements, state allocations, and daily cash sales.
The Channelview ISD Transportation Department is responsible for transporting students daily for any of the following reasons:
- Regular Routes
- Field Trips
- Tutorials
- Summer School
The department has an examplary safety record and travels more than 50,000 miles per month. In addition to regular duties, the department also:
- Holds occasional fund raisers to purchase school supplies for children in need or assist employees and/or their families during a time of need.
- Conducts a food drive for the area Food Bank.
- Awards scholarships to CHS Seniors.
- Purchases animals at the FFA Fair in support of local students.
The district's tax office is located at 828 Sheldon Road. The department consists of 3 employees dedicated to providing quality service to the community. Payments may be made in-person or online by one of the following methods:

A homeowner's annual tax bill is determined by:
- The tax rate adopted by the CISD Board of Trustees and
- The value placed on your property by the Harris County Appraisal District
