The superintendent serves as the educational leader and chief executive officer of the District. He oversees the daily operations of the school district. He works with the Board of Trustees to maintain district policies and operating procedures. He is responsible for assuming administrative leadership for the planning, operation, supervision and evaluation of educational programs services, and facilities of the District.
The superintendent works with the Assistant Superintendent of Administration and other district administrators for the assignment and evaluation of all personnel of the district making recommendations for the selection of personnel, and initiating the termination or suspension of an employee.
The superintendent works with the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction to help provide effective leadership for the district planning process and for insuring that plans operate effectively in a way that causes student performance to improve. In addition, the superintendent is responsible for ensuring that local administrative procedures are provided to establish the district and campus level planning and decision making process.
The superintendent shall prepare, or cause to be prepared, a proposed budget covering all estimated revenue and proposed expenditures of the District for the following fiscal year. He works with the Assistant Superintendent of Finance and other administrators to coordinate and direct all budget activity in the District.
