The Director of Athletics is responsible for directing and managing the district's athletic program and facilities. This includes working to provide each student with the opportunity to participate in an extracurricular athletic activity and ensure compliance with all state, University Interscholastic League, NCAA, National Federation of State High School Association, and local requirements.

• Physical and academic eligibility requirements.
• Maintaining an active program that promotes good sportsmanship and student development.
• Approving all interscholastic game schedules.
• Managing district athletic operations by directing ticket sales, employing game officials, and ensuring preparation of facilities.
• Planning, organizing, and supervising all athletic awards programs.
• Implementing the policies established by federal law, state law, State Board of Education rule, UIL rules, and local board policy in areas of athletics.
• Encouraging community and parent involvement including support of athletic booster clubs.
