Athlete of the WeekWilliams named Chronicle Athlete of Week

For the second week in a row, a Channelview Falcons football player has been named the Houston Chronicle’s Boys Athlete of the Week. Wide receiver/running back Terrell Williams had nine receptions for 122 yards and one touchdown, along with 172 rushing yards in the Falcons’ 62-42 victory over Friendswood. In week three of the season, quarterback Averion Hurts was also honored as the Chronicle’s top boys athlete of the week. The Falcons are 3-1 on the season and face Pasadena Dobie at 7 p.m. this Saturday at Veterans’ Memorial Stadium in Pasadena. Read More

New website to launchNew district website to be launched October 3!

The Channelview Independent School District will launch its new district website on Monday, Oct. 3. The new site will feature a new look and a new address – www.cvisd.org. The new website features highly visible drop-down menus and quick links to school and department pages that allow users immediate access to information they are seeking. “Our goal is for visitors to our website to be able to find the information they are looking for quickly and easily,” said Mark Kramer, the district’s public relations officer and webmaster. “Parents, community members and other visitors to the website will find it simple to navigate and user-friendly.” In addition, more highlights of the new website include an expanded District News and Events section and a rotating photo gallery window on the home page where numerous photos of district events and happenings will be able to be looped in a continuous slideshow. A District Events Calendar on the home page will be another main element of the site. “There are so many great things happening in Channelview ISD and our website will give us the opportunity to feature student achievements, upcoming events and other important information on a larger scale,” Kramer said. The district welcomes suggestions in regard to the new website, so that it will be informative to users. “We always welcome suggestions and input that will make our website informative and useful to everyone,” Kramer said. After the new website launch, if users type in the old website address (www.channelview.isd.esc4.net) they will be redirected to the new site.
